What is Vintage Church

You may be asking yourself “What is a Vintage Church?” In an age where everyone wants something new, our heart here at Bible Baptist Church is to follow the pattern for the local church as set forth in the Bible. We are a Bible teaching/preaching church that seeks to follow the Word of God.

Some things wear out and become irrelevant over time. Other things are transcendent and stand the test of time.

Church may look very different now than it did 2000 years ago, but the directives of Scripture that formed the core values of the early church remain the same and are relevant to our church today.

Vintage says, “I’m not trying to reinvent Christianity by following the latest trend, but instead, I will take my cues from the truth's of Holy Scripture." Vintage describes a time-tested theology that is relevant to every generation.

Vintage evokes a strong sense of community. It says our church endeavors to connect with each other, to encourage one another as we continue the mission Jesus began. In many ways, churches have reduced people to numbers, while Christ commanded us to love people as neighbors.

Vintage speaks to a need for authentic Christianity. We believe people are looking for a place to hear God’s honest Truth, spoken in love, without the pretense or ritual of empty religion, and to gather for something more than just a show. A Christianity that lives out the Gospel through deeds and words and connects with those in need.

Vintage speaks to the need for a simpler Christianity. We live in an over-programmed world.  In some ways, this attitude has crept into our churches.  We contribute to the hectic pace of life, rather than giving frazzled people a calm place to encounter the Living God and experience community with one another.

Vintage faith is a faith centered and focused on the person and Gospel of Jesus Christ. A faith that seeks no higher cause than knowing Jesus and making Him known.
